The Products are measured with a 3D measuring machine. This is a portal-type measuring machine. It includes a bridge and movable quill; the bridge travels along a granite slab. The X- and Y-axes are driven an controlled by DC motors with friction gears and control rods. The Y-axis is driven by a steel band. The Y- and Z-axes are comprised of ceramic hollow sections.
The machine is equipped with a Renishaw ruler with a resolution of 0.5 μ, which guarantes a precise determining of the X, Y and Z coordinates of the contact. All travels are made up of a system of precise air bearings which hover above the surface.
